Vulcanoctopus hydrothermalis is an octopus known from deep sea hydrothermal vents.[1] It is the single species ajudged to exist in the genus Vulcanoctopus. Only males have been found, at a maximum size of 52 mm mantle length.[1] It has been observed feeding on the amphipod Halice hesmonectes, and possibly the crab Bythograea thermydron.[1]
